2 Years Old!!!

We've had a birthday in our house this week. Connor Bench is two years old. We didn't do anything spectacular or grand for his birthday but it was a very good day enjoyed by all.

We started off by making a birthday sign

and we spent lots of time outside

we did a photo shoot of course

and opened presents

We had one of Connor's favorite dinners

with cupcakes for dessert

Here are some recent pictures of him. He loves anything that involves dirt and being outside. We can't go to the park anymore with out having to give him a bath when we get home. He rolls in it, throws it on his head, makes piles on his legs and loves to dig and push it around.

he also likes to find sticks and rocks on our walks

Chicago

Connor and I had to get one last flight in before he turned two, so we headed to Chicago for a visit with the Walkers. I think it's impossible to describe how much fun Connor had with his cousins. He absolutely loved having playmates. I love trips where you can just go hang out and not have to worry about all the places you have to go and things you have to see. This was that kinda trip and it was great.

We spent lots of time at the park
oh the swings(note to self, don't put toddler down twirly slide with steep slope. This was not the picture I was expecting. Sorry Connor.)

He loved all the new toys and thought this one was especially fun to climb in

How cute is this picture?

Do you know how hard it was to get this picture?

I made Michelle workout with me in the mornings. Andrew loved to join us. And yes, those are soup cans we're using as weights.

Aren't they cute little cousins?
Connor never gave Sarah a hug back. Sad.
Connor and Sarah got along quite well. Unless they were in the same shopping cart. Sarah didn't like Connor to touch her and this is where Connor discovered how to tease his cousin. This was the funniest part about Chicago. Connor learned he could annoy his cousins and found it to be quite amusing. As is typical with Connor, you could see the whole thought process going on in his head. "If I touch Andrew's head he jerks away and yells. Let me try this again. Same reaction. Very interesting. I better try again to make sure. Yep, works every time." It was so funny to watch this interaction. I finally had to be the parent and tell Connor it's not nice to tease cousins.

long story short

our washer broke and I needed to rinse Connor's clothes in the bathtub. Connor wanted to help and helped himself into the bathtub.

I would also like to point out I have a little boy now, not a baby. He's so big.

We got Connor a little potty to get used to. He always asks for a book.
This is his "show me your poop face" faceIt's been nice enough to go to the park.
We've got a little super hero, cape and all.
guitar
Their morning ritual
His life revolves around BAAAAA! This is Connor's way of saying book. I hear it a lot throughout the day

Christmas Morning

We had a very relaxed Christmas on the east coast. We opened presents, went to church, and did a progressive dinner with friends. Connor didn't seem to get what was going on. The only present he opened all the way was a book. He had no interest in opening the other presents sitting on the table. Oh well...
Doesn't he look so excited?
His new wagon. Fun to push and sit in.
Jared builds, Connor destroys
just as fun as the toynow they can play together
