A lot has happened since my last post. It's been quite the month for
our little family. We started the month off by closing on our first
house! Yay!!! OK, technically it's not a house, it's a condo, but it's
home to us and we're pretty excited about it. This of course
means we had to move, not so fun. So at the end of the month we moved out of our old
place. Did we move directly into our new place? Of course not, that
would have been way too easy. Due to a series of unfortunate events, we
did a double move. Yep, that's right. A double move. We (let's be
honest, Jared) moved our stuff into a storage unit and 5 days later "we"
moved it out again. This was good and bad. It was bad because as Jeannie put it, it was the eternal move. It seemed to last forever. It was good because we
were able to move things into the storage unit a few weeks before we had
to be out. It was kind of nice not having to do everything all at once. It was also good because it forced us to take a vacation. We were homeless for 5 days and figured we might as well be homeless at the beach. Everybody back here raves about the Outer Banks in
North Carolina, and it's been on our list, so we went.We checked out of
our old condo and headed straight to the beach. We now know why
everybody loves the Outer Banks. It was so fun! We had a great time
down there and I'm sure we'll go back. Connor wasn't so fond of the
crashing waves (see below) but he started to warm up to the idea. Not
surprisingly, playing in the sand was his favorite part. It was nice to
have a little break in between moves. Now, we are finally in our new
home and loving it. We're still finding places for things and Jared's
got quite the project list, but it is so nice to have a place we can
make our own.
