Alabama

Connor went on his first plane ride this past week, and he was fantastic! He slept the entire time. Jared has to work in Alabama for three weeks (they've got some pretty major tests going on, wish them luck) so we decided that Connor and I would go down to visit instead of Jared coming home Saturday afternoon and leaving Sunday afternoon.

We had a great time. It was so nice just to be somewhere different and out of the apartment. Even though Jared still had to work all day, it was nice to see him at night. We did manage to have some fun weekend adventures.

We went Nashville one weekend. Being the non-country music fans that we are, we had no idea that it was the CMA festival at that time. That would be great surprise if we were country music fans, I heard there were lots of celebrities, but we're not so it wasn't that great for us.

We ended up just going to the life size Parthenon since everything was so crowded and it was too hot to keep Connor outside very long. We did, however, find this great little farm on the way where Jared picked these amazing blueberries while I fed Connor.

The next weekend we went to Chattanooga. You know, you've heard of the Chattanooga Choo Choo right?

One thing I can say about the south is they make some mean BBQ. Boy was it good. This is a baked potato stuffed with pork and cheese, then you add which ever flavor BBQ sauce you want. Surprise surprise, Jared had no problem finishing the whole thing.

We also went to this crazy waterfall. It's 1100 feet below ground and is 150 feet tall.

All in all, a very fun trip.
